Miranda has found great success, but still faced adversity when it comes to being a woman in a male-dominated field. She looks up to her boss at the Brewers, Caitlin Walter, to guide her through the difficulties.
She’s the production manager within the brewers and she leads a team of all guys. So even her as a woman in the field, and we’ve had so many conversations about that experience and she’s told me like. Some difficult stories and things she had to overcome, and I’m so happy to have experienced it firsthand that initially, but just having her as a role model, she leads with such empathy and confidence, which I think is rare to find.
In leadership positions, and I think it’s just so inspiring to have her as a creative and like a businesswoman. I want to emulate every single so many different aspects of things.”
Even with everything Miranda is juggling at work, she still manages to find time for school work, clubs, and a social life.
“I’m still trying to figure that out. It’s a lot. I feel like sometimes I get to the point where I’m like burning out, and I can feel myself, and then that’s also when I don’t create my best because I’m not at my peak creativity, and I just feel stressed and bogged down by so many different things. So balance is definitely important, but I don’t know, it’s hard because that doesn’t quite exist in my in my life at the moment, and I think also in this field you are at the beck and call of the team and like their schedule and their weekends, and it’s a lot of really late nights.
I didn’t get home like a few days ago at the hockey game until midnight because it’s like your work starts kind of after the game. I don’t know, I wouldn’t trade having this job with school selling anything because it’s just like the opportunities that have come from it are absolutely incredible, and so it gets to be a lot sometimes, A good amount. I know I’m gonna look back and be proud of how hard I worked.”
