EIGHT INFLUENTIAL WOMEN IN SPORTS MEDIA ON CAMPUS

Krissy Birdsall is also a recent UW Alumna, and now works for the Orlando Magic as a Radio Graduate Associate.


As a Badger, the New Jersey native was a part-time producer for ESPN Madison and a Big Ten Plus Commentator for the Big Ten Network. Birdsall was also a live video production assistant for Wisconsin Athletics.
Kali Mick is a Brand Communications Student Assistant for Wisconsin Athletics.

Mick covers men’s hockey and women’s rowing. She creates all of their digital content and social media that fans know and love. Mick works several hours a week creating content and coordinating with student-athletes and staff to share their stories.

The Denver native completed her undergraduate program in three years and is now doing her fourth and final year with the program as a graduate student.
Sofia Miranda has made her mark on Wisconsin sports teams, working for the Brewers and the Badgers.

Sofia formally attended St. Thomas to play soccer, but returned to her Wisconsin roots to do something bigger. Miranda is Video Producer for Wisconsin Athletics, where she produces for football, basketball, volleyball, soccer, swim & dive, and hockey. Miranda also works as a video production intern for the Milwaukee Brewers
Sloane Rosen is a content creator with some crazy partnerships, from Erin Andrews to the Unwell Network.

Rosen is also a sideline reporter through the Big Ten Network. This summer, the senior was the in-game emcee for the Madison Nightmares, where she got to be a part of the time, winning the Northwoods League Softball Championship. Outside of all of this, she is a student-athlete and a member of the UW Dance Team. 
Rachel Cohen is the in-game host for Wisconsin women’s volleyball.

Cohen works for the Big Ten Network and is a sideline reporter for men’s and women’s basketball, men’s hockey, and softball. Cohen is also a content creator for NBC Sports, where she publishes stories for the nbcsports.com website. On top of all of this, the senior is the president for AWSM, the Association of Women in Sports Media.
Aliya North works as a Badgers Give Back engagement and community outreach intern.

Here, she works with Coach Fickell’s 2nd & 7 Foundation in Madison, where she coordinates with student-athletes to visit elementary school classrooms and read with them. North captures content while she is there and builds valuable connections with athletes and staff.
Emma Hansen has dedicated her time on campus to the student organization AreaRED, essentially Wisconsin’s student section

She started as a member of the Marketing Committee, and has worked her way up to Marketing Director for her junior and senior year. This year, Hansen has also accepted the role as a Creative Intern for Wisconsin Athletics. In both of these positions, she takes photos and makes thrilling graphics.
Lauren Haney is an ESPN Madison Digital Content Specialist and a senior at Wisconsin

She also works for athletics as a Wisconsin Football Video Student Manager, under Coach Fickell. This summer, she was a video associate for the Los Angeles Chargers and was previously a video intern. Haney has also worked as a NFL on FOX Production Runner.
